Matthias Kaufmann

Matthias Kaufmann studied mathematics, philosophy and political science at the universities of Erlangen and Osnabrück/Vechta (Germany). He is professor in philosophy (ethics) at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg since 1995. The Italian translation of one of his books, Anarchia Illuminata, won a Menzione speciale della Giuria of the Premio di saggistica Salvatore Valitutti (Salerno 2008). He is member of the Accademia di Scienze morali e politiche of the Società Nazionale di Scienze, Lettere e Arti in Napoli. His fields of work are political philosophy, philosophy of law, philosophy of language and bioethics.
