Geert Thyssen is professor at Liverpool John Moores University. His research interest are: history of education; enlightenment education (Aufklärungspädagogik); ‘new’ education (Progressivism, Reformpädagogik); open-air schools, holiday camps (Parascholastic initiatives); remedial education, educational problems in families; behaviour problems in children and youth; people with disabilities; nutritional education; food history; food culture.
